It can be an interesting alternative or contrast to the church organ and can can provide an unobtrusive background to the reception and/or dinner adding to the ambience of the occasion. It is particularly useful to have a guitarist play at civil weddings where there is often no piano or organ available in the room and live music is far more impressive than recorded.
